Administrative Coordinator, Early Childhood Education Initiative

ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

The Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund (JCF) is dedicated to building a connected and enriched Jewish community locally, supporting a pluralistic and democratic Israel, and sustaining Jews in need around the world. Together with its endowment operations, JCF acts as a central Jewish financial resource development and planning institution for the Jewish community of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties.

ECEI PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Early Childhood Education Initiative (ECEI) works with teachers, preschools and families to make the Bay Area a center of excellence in Early Childhood Jewish Education.  ECEI partners with numerous institutions, foundations, and individuals and offers programs that focus on Professional Development and Connecting with Families, and promoting the field of Jewish Early Childhood Education.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Administrative Assistant position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, strong organization skills, excellent writing skills and experience with social media.  It is a part time (20 hours a week) position in our San Rafael office.  This position is responsible for the general needs of the ECEI and specifically PJ Library.

ECEI General Duties

  • Communicating with Early Childhood Education faculty and administrators
  • Scheduling meetings and program events
  • Ordering and managing office supplies

PJ Library responsibilities

  • Managing program budgets;
  • Communicating with PJ Library families and JRS program stakeholders;
  • Managing PJ library grants and fundraising efforts
  • Accounts payable and receivable with PJ Library partners
  • Updating and maintaining program’s social media presence;
  • Scheduling, preparing and implementing program meetings and events;
  • Creating and distributing regular email communication;
  • Maintaining PJ Library database and handling monthly invoice submissions to funder;

EDUCATION OR TRAINING EQUIVALENT TO:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Significant Office Administration experience
  • Track record of managing successful grants

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, ABILITIES):

  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite 2007, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Event coordination and planning experience
  • Experience with database management software, especially Raiser’s Edge
  • Knowledge of social media strategy, content creation, distribution, and tracking
  • Knowledge of Jewish customs and traditions a plus
  • Experience in an educational setting desirable
