Diller Network Coordinator

This position reports to the Diller Teen Initiatives Director

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND: 

The Diller Teen Fellows (DTF) program is a year-long international program for high school students focused on deepening and strengthening teens’ Jewish identity, leadership capacity, and investment in Jewish Peoplehood, with a particular focus on Israel and tikkun olam. Fellows participate in workshops, retreats, community service projects, and a three-week Israel Summer Seminar.  The program was created in San Francisco in 1998 and expanded to include communities across North America and Israel in 2006.  There are currently 26 North American, Australian, South African and Israeli communities participating in the program, and over 1,500 past participants in North America.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Diller Network Coordinator is responsible for further developing and managing the DTF network of past participants and all of its activities.  Goals for this position and work include: 1. developing and managing on-line tools for fellow engagement and networking; 2. engaging fellows in creating this robust, active network; 3. helping find ways fellows can further explore and act on the program’s core values and focus areas; 4. introducing fellows to and helping them connect with other Jewish engagement opportunities.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continue development of and maintain Salesforce network database
  • Manage and leverage on-line tools to help fellows connect and maintain meaningful contact with one another and with the program based on their evolving interests and values
  • Encourage and support alumni engagement in participating communities across North America
  • Facilitate and support fellows’ ongoing participation and engagement in leadership opportunities in the Jewish and general communities 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of, comfort, and facility with on-line/networking tools and platforms (experience working with Salesforce greatly preferred)
  • Strong computer skills including social media platforms and Microsoft Office
  • Sophisticated interpersonal/relational skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention-to-detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability and comfort working both collaboratively and independently
  • Excellent verbal and written English-language skills; Hebrew language skills a significant plus
  • Flexible approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • BA required, MA preferred
  • Connection to mission including strong desire to deepen Jewish teens ongoing meaningful engagement in Jewish life

The Network Coordinator is based in our San Francisco office. This position may include up to four weeks of travel annually in North America and possibly Israel.  Applicants must be available to participate in an in-person interview in San Francisco on Dec. 14 or 15.  Preferred start date is Jan, 19, 2016.
