Scope & Deliverables
The Jewish Coalition for Literacy (JCL) recently completed production on a new website; however, it was not optimized for mobile devices. With the growing popularity of iPads and iPhones, JCL would like to work with a pro bono consultant to optimize the current site for use with mobile devices. First priority would be for iPads; second priority would be for iPhones. JCL's website was built using Wordpress PHP framework.
Project Results
By making our new website mobile friendly, we hope the project will increase usage, help JCL recruit more volunteers, and attract more funders and community partners. This in turn, will enable JCL to raise its profile in the community and continue to grow – and ultimately impact more at-risk children who struggle to read.
Organization Description
Inspired by Jewish values of social justice, the Jewish Coalition for Literacy (located in San Francisco) is dedicated to eliminating childhood illiteracy by mobilizing tutors, engaging parents and expanding home libraries to help under-served public school children throughout the Bay Area.
Required Skills/Experience
Experience with mobile website design and optimizing existing websites for mobile devices.
