Art Competition for Best Contemporary Israeli Artists

SNAC-Expo 30-Piece Exhibit through December 21

The global power and reach of social media has been used time and again to raise awareness and create a call to action for causes around the world. But in a twist that brings together artists and the viewing public in a dynamic virtual dialogue, a global, online competition – Social Network Artists Competition Expo Israel (SNAC) – has used social media to promote and judge Israeli artists and their work in a whole new way.

Many of today’s best emerging contemporary Israeli artists submitted their work to this competition, work that covers a wide range of subjects. Almost as diverse as the art itself were the art lovers around the world who engaged online to participate in the competition:

  • Total Israeli artists participating in the competition: 72
  • Total pieces submitted to the competition: 219 pieces
  • Total likes and followers of SNAC’s Facebook page: 13,000
  • Total unique visitors to SNAC’s website: 129,000
  • Total votes cast worldwide: almost 8,000

SNAC is the brainchild of two world-renowned Bay Area artists, Guy Clément Cohen and Ali Meamar. Created to unite artists and art communities around the world, SNAC operates at the confluence of web technology and the traditional, physical experience of art in a participatory way.
