Best of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, Season 35

If you missed it in the city, now's your chance to catch it closer to home in Marin! On the heels of last year's successful run, the Osher Marin JCC, in partnership with the Jewish Film Institute, is bringing back this mini-series that highlights the best films from season 35 of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.

ABOUT THE FILMS
Feb. 9: Dough
Festival favorite Dough follows a curmudgeonly widower Nat Dayan (Jonathan Pryce), who obstinately clings to his way of life and his livelihood as a Kosher bakery shop owner in London's East End.

Feb. 23: East Jerusalem, West Jerusalem
David Broza, the Israeli singer-songwriter, sets out to realize his dream of cooperation and dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians through music.

Mar. 8: Very Semi-Serious
Directed by Leah Wolchok, Very Semi-Serious takes an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the New Yorker and introduces the cartooning legends and hopefuls who create the iconic cartoons that have inspired, baffled-and occasionally pissed off-all of us for decades.

Mar. 22: Raise the Roof
Rivaling the greatest wooden architecture in history, the synagogues of 18th-century Poland inspired artists Rick and Laura Brown of Handshouse Studio to embark on a 10-year pursuit-to reconstruct the elaborate roof and painted ceiling of the Gwozdziec synagogue.
