Drop-In Art-Making

Sundays, March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 1-3pm

Every Sunday and select school holidays from 1-3pm, families can experience a new adventure in art-making free with admission to The Contemporary Jewish Museum. As always, the hands-on fun inspires children to learn more about the exhibitions on display in the galleries, the building's architecture, or holidays and traditions while experimenting with materials and art techniques.

Sundays, March 1 & 8: Dog, Bird, and Other Animal Masks
In honor of Purim, create a colorful mask using paint, feathers, animal print collage, and more!

Sundays, March 15 & 29: Family Time Capsules
Inspired by the exhibition Letters to Afar and the holiday of Passover, a Jewish celebration of freedom filled with stories and ritual, tell your family story in images and words.

Sunday, March 22: Artist's Studio with Ascha Drake
Join artist Ascha Drake to work with materials that she has on hand in her studio: tape, acrylic, gouache, paper, beeswax, gesso, and charcoal. Layer, incise, conceal, collage, embed, and excavate. Participants will be encouraged to create postcards to mail out on an adventure around the world.
