Who is A-WA? A-WA is a group of three sisters whose sweeping and uncompromising creation will take you on an exciting musical journey. Blending Yemenite Jewish folk singing and electronic music, this trio will bridge all language barriers and get you dancing all night long.
A-WA’s soon-to-be-released debut album reworks vintage Yemeni–Arabic women’s songs, with a music video that has hip-hopped over musical, geographical and social barriers to rack up over two million views. Expect scintillating harmonies, influenced by a range of eclectic sources from traditional songs to reggae, hip-hop, jazz, Egyptian film music and the Andrews Sisters.
