The Jewish single parent support center Judith a low-income single mother approached Jewish Family and Childrens Services several years ago for help with her teenage son Dan who is severely autistic. The help we got changed our lives. Finding solace at the Bay Area Healing Center Mark attended a work event where he heard Rabbi Weiss the executive director of the Bay Area Jewish Healing Center speak about saying goodbye to a loved one. Overwhelmed by sadness that he wasnt able to be at his mothers bedside when she died Mark left the room. One of the Centers rabbis approached him and they spoke about what was troubling him. Mark said he wanted his moms suffering to end but knew that would mean letting her go forever. He said hed pray for peace for me and my family. I will never forget his kindness and compassion.
