For Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and Supporting Foundations

Contribution Guidelines

Refer to these critical dates below to ensure that contributions are received by December 31, the IRS deadline for yearly tax deduction eligibility.

Checks
  • Mail must be postmarked by Monday, December 31.
  • Drop off checks to our office by 5 pm on Friday, December 28.

Stock Transfers
  • Must hit your account by Monday, December 31.

For DAFs:
Email us and specify the stock name and number of shares OR complete and send the Contribution Transmittal Form.

For Supporting Foundations:

Wire Transfers
  • Must be received by the Federation by 2 pm on Monday, December 31.
  • To ensure proper processing, we recommend initiating wires at least two business days prior to ensure timely delivery.

For DAFs:
Complete the Contribution Transmittal Form.

For Supporting Foundations:

Restricted Stock
  • Note that processing may take up to 2-3 weeks before proceeds are deposited into your fund/foundation.

Granting Guidelines

Although grant recommendations from your donor advised fund or supporting foundation are not a taxable event, follow the below guidelines to help ensure that charities receive grants by year-end. Grant recommendations submitted after December 14 may still be approved. Grants will continue to be processed weekly and mailed out each Friday and we will mail our final batch of grants for 2018 on Friday, December 28.
