Chief Financial Officer

FEDERATION OVERVIEW

For more than a century, the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund (the Federation) has shaped and strengthened the Bay Area Jewish community and beyond. While the community’s needs and the strategies for meeting those needs have evolved with time, one thing remains clear – the Federation has an essential role to play in the Bay Area Jewish community.

At its core, the Federation serves as a vehicle for mobilizing financial and communal resources for long term and urgent community needs as well as strategic initiatives. Year in and year out, the organization funds institutions and programs that foster a deeper sense of engagement and participation in Jewish life across the communities it serves. Moreover, the organization led the community’s response to major emergencies, such as the Northern California wildfires and the COVID-19 pandemic. The Federation, along with other strong Jewish partner agencies and Jewish foundations, also plays a critical role in coordinating and convening the community around key issues and needs.
