FEDERATION OVERVIEW

At the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund (the Federation), we envision diverse, dynamic Bay Area Jewish communities, deeply engaged in Jewish life and doing good locally, in Israel, and around the world. We create opportunities for people in the Bay Area to connect with and contribute to their communities. Our work is guided by the timeless Jewish values of kehilla (community), tzedakah (giving with just intention), tzedek (pursuing justice), and tikkun olam (repairing the world).

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Diller Teen Fellows is an immersive experiential education program for 11th graders designed to inspire and promote Jewish engagement and leadership among Jewish youth. This international program began in San Francisco 20 years ago and has since expanded to include 32 communities across North and South America, South Africa, Australia, Europe, and Israel. The program is sponsored by the Helen Diller Family Foundation and the Federation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

  • Maintain relevant updated Alumni network vision and goals.
  • Create a strategy for implementing the vision and goals of the Alumni network.
  • Develop collaborations with key partners and outside organizations to deepen the impact and opportunities for alumni.
  • Work closely with Diller Teen Fellows partner communities in the US and internationally to support alumni outreach and engagement opportunities
  • Seek opportunities to connect alumni to Fellows currently in the program as mentors and examples of ongoing impact.
  • Serves as a resource to International communities in all alumni-related work.
  • Supports Diller leadership in decision making and strategy for the Alumni Network.
  • TRAVEL: Domestic and international travel approximately 15% of time.
  • Location: Remote/United States (with a preference for Diller Teen Fellows US-based partner community).

EDUCATION OR TRAINING EQUIVALENT

BA in a related field required, with a graduate degree preferred

QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSES)

The Director of Alumni Network & Engagement will bring approximately 7 years of experience in network engagement and alumni work and a passion for Jewish Experiential education.

The successful candidate will have: 

  • A background in community engagement, network development.
  • A background in experiential Jewish education.
  • Deep knowledge of Jewish communal organizations across the US and beyond.
  • Understanding of the communities Diller serves. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic global team.
