Student Debt Relief Pilot

Addressing Unmet Needs

Repaying Student Debt for Educators at Jewish Organizations

The Student Debt Relief Pilot was launched by the Federation in 2017, in partnership with Bob Tandler and Valli Benesch, to repay student loans for employees as a strategy to enhance employee recruitment and retention.

Modeled after for-profit company benefits, this three-year Pilot allows educators working a minimum of 20 hours per week teaching at select Bay Area Jewish institutions (listed below) to receive a monthly payment toward their student loans.

The Pilot invited partner employers to particpate in the three year test, which is administered by the Federation and Gradifi, a subsidiary of First Republic Bank.
