Single-Parent Family and Overnight Camp Grants

Grants help bring the Jewish camp experience to your family!

We know that accessing Jewish life can come at cost, that isn’t only financial. With so much to juggle raising kids in the Bay Area, families can tap into the single-parent family grants that aim to encourage our diverse Jewish community to feel confident in applying for and returning to camp.

Camp Eligibility and Awards:

  • Live in the Federation’s Service Area
  • Attend any Jewish family camp and/or at least 6 days of Jewish overnight camp
  • Self-identify as a single-parent family*
  • Apply for financial assistance through your camp or the Federation.  See below for details.

*Single parent family grants do not impact other grants or scholarships families can receive at the Federation

Awards:

Family Camp - $300
Overnight Camp Sessions including Taste of Camp (6-day, 2-week, 2.5 week, 3-week): $500
1-month+: $700

Campers attending Camp Tawonga, Camp Newman, Camp Ramah Galim, and Maccabi Sports Camp are eligible to receive this grant and should apply directly with the camp. For campers attending other Jewish camps, please apply using ourSpecialty Family Camp or Overnight Camp Scholarship Application.

Camp is a transformative experience in the life of a child, and for the whole family
Negotiating for financial help can be time-consuming and emotionally draining. Our goal is to help relieve some of the burdens by making Jewish family and overnight camp more accessible.
