Student Debt Relief Pilot

Addressing Unmet Needs

Helping Employees of Jewish Nonprofits Manage Student Debt

The Federation is deeply committed to helping employees who work for our Jewish community nonprofit partners.

In 2017, the Federation launched our Student Debt Relief Pilot in partnership Bob Tandler and Valli Benesch, to enhance Jewish nonprofits' ability to recruit and retain employees. In 2021, the Federation partnered with Summer, providing us with the ability to help more employees from participating organizations manage their student debt. As of May 2021, enrollees in the Federation's Student Debt Relief Pilot realize an average savings of $403 per month and $21k over the lifetime of their loans.
