At the 473K Belonging Experience, we will co-create a new vision of Bay Area Jewish communities where everyone in our diverse population can find belonging during this time of crisis and beyond.

There are 473,000 people living in Bay Area Jewish households representing a rich diversity of abilities and ethnic, religious, racial, gender, and sexual identities. Yet very few of our 473K feel a meaningful connection to a Jewish community.

Join hundreds of leaders of all kinds from across our Jewish landscape to explore how we can create more just and equitable Jewish communities – especially as we emerge from this year of collective trauma. A third morning of immersive small group “design studios” on May 6 will offer those who want a deeper dive and a chance to create resources to benefit the whole community. Learn more about the Federation's Culture of Belonging work and last year's 473K conference here.

Who belongs at 473K?
Anyone who wants to cultivate vibrant, inclusive, and resilient Jewish communities in the Bay Area. We encourage people to bring all of their diverse identities which may include: volunteer and professional leaders of Jewish organizations, emerging Jewish networks and groups; funders and donors; social entrepreneurs; Jews of Color, LGBTQ+, diverse ethnic and religious identities, different abilities, Jewish and non-Jewish.

How is 473K different from other conferences?
As we have all learned this year, it's harder to connect with each other through a screen. Although we will gather virtually, we will do so in a variety of formats that will enable us to learn, co-create and interact with one another in meaningful ways. Every session will include small group interactions, will be built around conversations, not presentations or speakers, and will model belonging practices as we learn about belonging.

From building inclusive rituals to putting belonging back on your board, each Design Studio is an immersive workshop for people who have particular experience with the topic and can actively co-create a tool or resource for use by the broader community.
