A Community Gathering: Survival and Dedication

Welcoming a Czech Holocaust Torah in our Jewish Center, followed by the 8th day lighting of our outdoor Hanukkah Menorah.

Survival and Dedication: Before celebrating the last night of Hanukkah at B'nai Israel Jewish Center, our community will formally accept the arrival of a Czech Holocaust Torah scroll from Temple Beth Emunah of Brockton MA. The scroll is on permanent loan from the Memorial Scrolls Trust of London which acquired 1,564 Holocaust Torah scrolls to lend to Jewish congregations around the world.

Just as Hanukkah marks the rededication of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, our acceptance of this surviving remnant of the Shoah will serve to rekindle our commitment to our faith and to each other.

Please join us to welcome the Czech Holocaust Torah in our Jewish Center, followed by the lighting of our outdoor Hanukkah Menorah. Our doors are open to persons of all faiths and walks of life. Covid-19 protocols will be observed and all persons are requested to bring proof of vaccination.

  • In-person attendance will be subject to limitations. If attending in-person, please register early.
  • For those attending via Zoom, please write to Zoom@bnaiisrael.net to request the link invitation.
