Len Lehmann
Len Lehmann is the owner and winemaker of Portola Vineyards. Since 2005, along with his family, he has been producing hand-crafted vintages that reflect the terroir of the Peninsula foothills, and sharing them with the local community. Many are surprised to hear that the hills above Silicon Valley have a rich viticultural history. These foothills were once California's premier winegrowing region, and the small vineyards here today continue to produce phenomenal wines. He follows a minimalist philosophy in winemaking, including the use of native yeast fermentations, to let the essence of the region shine through.Portola Vineyards is known for its pinot noir and chardonnay.

Len is a former Palo Alto engineer, philanthropist and mainstay of the South Bay Jewish community, and is also a pilot and an active participant in Angel Flight, which provides free trips to the needy for hospital treatment.
