Holocaust Commemoration - L’dor V’dor - From Generation to Generation

Sonoma County’s Annual Community-Wide Yom Hashoah Commemoration

We are honored to have Elizabeth Rosner, a Holocaust descendant and author of Survivor Café: The Legacy of Trauma and the Labyrinth of Memory, as the keynote speaker. We will also hear from Rena Victor, who was hidden during the Holocaust, her daughter Susan Victor, and her grandson Micah Victor Lesch. The event will include music by the Elsie Allen High School Choir, and the traditional candle-lighting ritual by Holocaust survivors and descendants, as well as candles for the victims of genocides worldwide; plus, a presentation of the Essay contest winners.

All are Welcome — Admission is Free. Yellow Memorial Candles will be available for lighting at home (donations gratefully accepted).

The event will be interpreted in American Sign Language.

Co-sponsored by the Alliance for the Study of the Holocaust and Genocide at Sonoma State University (SSU); Chevra Kadisha of Sonoma County (Jewish Burial Society); Jewish Community Center, Sonoma County (JCCSOCO); Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, The Peninsula, Marin Sonoma, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties; Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) North Bay Region; Jewish Family and Children’s Services, Sonoma Region; North Bay Chapter of Hadassah; and Congregations Beth Ami, B’nai Israel, Ner Shalom, Shir Shalom and Shomrei Torah.
