Jews of Color Shabbat: High Holidays Edition

September 30, 2022
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Location will be provided upon registration

Jews of Color are invited to come together for an in-person, outdoor, all-ages, community-building Shabbat hosted by Project Shamash, a program of Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice, and Base Bay Area. Program begins at 6:30 PM. Address will be sent upon host approval.

Kosher-style dinner will be provided- please indicate dietary restrictions in the sign-up form (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, kosher, etc.)

This is an affinity space for Jews of Color (JOC) who are marginalized by whiteness either racially or culturally, AND strongly and fabulously root themselves in other diverse identities including Black, Indigenous, Latino, Asian, Sephardi, Mizrachi and more. While this event will center JOC and JOC experiences, non-Jewish People of Color are also welcome to attend. If you have any questions about the intentionality behind the space, please contact Bekkah at

COVID Safety: We ask that all attendees, including children, take a rapid COVID test upon arrival. Tests will be available on site, but please bring your own test if you have one. Anyone who tests positive will not be asked to participate. If you are feeling sick in any way, e.g. congested, or feverish, please stay home and care for yourself. This event will take place outdoors. Masks are highly encouraged but will not be required.

Accessibility: Address will be sent upon host approval. This event will take place in a wheelchair-accessible, outdoor space. Street parking is available. For safety and accessibility reasons, PLEASE DO NOT WEAR SCENTED PRODUCTS to this event. This includes scented shampoos, perfumes, colognes, sunscreens, deodorants etc. Learn more about scent/fragrance-free spaces here.

Please dress warmly, as we will be outdoors. All ages are welcome- however, there will be no childcare services available.
