Community Awards Virtual Celebration
L’Dor V’Dor is Hillel of Silicon Valley’s most anticipated community event of the year. The event raises about one-third of the agency’s total budget for the year and brings the community together.
As we continue to be extra cautious during the pandemic, we will again gather virtually on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. After a trying year where much attention was devoted to responding to antisemitism, and fighting campaigns to malign Israel it seems fitting that this year we are acknowledging courageous people. The honorees have shown, by their actions, that Jews must stand up for Israel and against antisemitism. It is a great privilege to honor those who, despite great risk of being intimidated or isolated, took leadership roles and spoke out.
At the event, we will be honoring community members Chuck & Barbara Taubman for their devotion to Hillel of Silicon Valley and to the community. In addition, we are honoring Dr. Tammi Rossman Benjamin, Director of AMCHA Initiative, a non-profit organization devoted to investigating, documenting, educating about, and combating campus antisemitism in America.
In addition, consistent with this year’s theme, we are thrilled to recognize the (bravery/moxie) of Katelyn Pan, Past President of De Anza College’s Associated Student Body, together with nine current and former Hillel students who led efforts to combat anti-resolutions being proposed, and ultimately passed on their campuses. These students attended and spoke on behalf of Israel at numerous student council meetings, wrote letters, and mobilized campus and community members.
We greatly look forward to having everyone join us virtually for this annual celebration of our community.
More information, including registration details, will be added as the event date approaches.
