Kick off the new school year and the Jewish New Year at the JCCSF! Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, celebrates the preciousness of our lives and begins a ten-day period of self-reflection that culminates with Yom Kippur. Join us to prepare for a season of transitions with live music, a handmade card station, hands-on activities and tasty treats. All are welcome at this event for all ages! 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Apple and honey tastings New Year card making Family yoga and stretching New Year inspired cocktails, for adults Story time with PJ library Miller's Deli Food for purchase Shofar "Petting Zoo" Tashlique fountain and reflection space Sukkot-connected building activity for all ages Book signing with Tiffany Shlain, author of 24/6: The Power of Unplugging One Day a Week 12:15 pm Alphabet Rockers, based in Oakland, make music that makes change. Led by Kaitlin McGaw (she/her) and Tommy Shepherd (he/him), they create brave spaces to shape a more equitable world through hip hop. Their Grammy-nominated 2018 album, Rise Shine #Woke, has reached 300,000 families since its release, inspiring American kids to stand up to hate and be their brave and beautiful selves. Their latest album, The Love, lifts the voices of our trans, two-spirit and gender non-conforming community. JCCSF's 23rd annual food drive!
