Value Culture presents Soul Vey: A Black Jewish Collaborative featuring Keren Ilan (Israel) & Simon Javan Okelo (Kenya)

You are invited to Value Culture's latest Soul Vey, a Black Jewish Collaborative where we celebrate our cultures coming together. This performance will showcase Simon Javan Okelo of Kenya, and Keren Ilan of Israel, both making their San Francisco Debuts.

Show begins at 8 PM in the stunning Belvedere Room (28th Floor) of the new Chorus SF. Seating is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot early. A selection of complimentary wine will be served during this event.

All Proceeds benefit Value Culture and the artists.

Keren Ilan, a talented Vietnamese-Israeli soulful-pop artist and model based in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Keren discovered her musical talent at a young age, picking up a guitar and crafting songs inspired by indie and soul music. Her unique sound and style were influenced by Radiohead and Modest Mouse, among others. Writing music has become Keren's way of expressing herself, like a personal diary.

In 2015, Keren moved to Florence, Italy, to explore new opportunities, and released her first EP, 'This Morning, Yesterday,' in 2019. Her music has gained attention, being played on the famous London radio show 'Get In Her Ears' and receiving recognition from writers all over.

Simon Javan Okelo grew up in the slums of Manyatta in Kisumu, Kenya, serving as the Field Director of Solace International and Co-Director of the Young Generation Centre from 2002-2010 where he directed humanitarian projects in Malawi, Kenya, Ghana, Liberia, and South Sudan. He also worked as a DJ and producer, organizing Unite The People concerts in 2008 in the wake of post-election violence and founding One Vibe Africa.

Since coming to the US in 2010, Simon has organized events and digital campaigns celebrating the African diaspora locally and globally. Since 2014 he has organized the Madaraka Festival at The Museum of POP Culture headlined by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Sauti Sol, Blitz The Ambassador, Rocky Dawuni, Meklit Hadero, Nik West, Naomi Wachira, Karun, and other renowned Grammy award-winning artists.
