FEDERATION OVERVIEW

At the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund (the Federation), we envision diverse, dynamic Bay Area Jewish communities, deeply engaged in Jewish life and doing good locally, in Israel, and around the world. We create opportunities for people in the Bay Area to connect with and contribute to their communities. PROGRAM OVERVIEW

PJ Library® Bay Area, a family engagement program of the Federation, provides a shared family experience where both parents and children learn about Jewish values, traditions, and holidays through stories, music, and activities. PJ Library Bay Area has a growing team of PJ Library Parent Connectors who build authentic peer-to-peer relationships and community with Jewish families raising young children throughout the Bay Area.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Program Assistant coordinates the administrative functions of the PJ Library Bay Area program including ongoing communication, family and program outreach, data management and marketing assistance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

  • Communicate with PJ Library and PJOW families through welcome letters, personal outreach, program invitations and sharing of family resources
  • Assist in marketing PJ Library Bay Area enrollment and community events by engaging directly with community partners, parenting blogs, parent club and other family programs to raise visibility and grow enrollment in PJ Library
  • Maintain database of subscribers in partnership with the PJ Library national office
  • Update subscriber information and maintain accurate email lists on Salesforce
  • Create and share monthly PJ Library Bay Area communications such as newsletter, blog posts, events, programs, and family resources
  • Create and maintain social media calendar and ongoing posts for PJ Library Bay Area’s Facebook and Instagram pages
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable with PJ Library vendors and general program expenses including monthly invoice submissions to funder and reimbursements for expenses for PJ Staff
  • Maintain program and book materials, ordering and mailing supplies and other administrative tasks as needed

EDUCATION OR TRAINING EQUIVALENT

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSES)

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram
  • Energetic, amicable, and flexible, self-motivated and highly organized
  • Excellent administrative, written, and oral communication skills, and engaging interpersonal skills and telephone manner
  • Impeccable organization and follow-through, with ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to multi-task and trouble-shoot, able to work both independently and within a team
  • Strong attention to detail is a priority
  • Demonstrates an initiative-taking and consistent approach to performing all job functions
  • Knowledge and appreciation of diversity within our Jewish community

COMPENSATION

Salary range: $34.00/hour- $37.00/hour Full-Time, in the San Francisco Office
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick pay, holidays (including Jewish), and retirement plan.
