Scope & Deliverables
Hasidah is currently managing its budgeting, accounting and reporting manually through Excel spreadsheets. This engagement involves setting up an accounting software package for us to use. We would like guidance with: 1) choosing appropriate non-profit accounting software and 2) accurately setting up a chart of accounts and contribution/donor tracking, creating reports and linking it to our budget. There is a small amount of information from the past year to use as a reference and assistance migrating it would be helpful but is not required.
Organization Description
Hasidah, a nonprofit start-up based in the Bay Area, is the voice of hope and compassion that raises awareness of infertility and reduces financial barriers to treatment in the Jewish community.
Project Results
Establishing an accounting system early in our work sets us up for better internal controls and administrative planning in the long run and prepares us for more effective reporting to our board and donors as well as the IRS. We also have extremely limited staff and we believe a basic accounting system will be more efficient than doing it manually.
Required Skills/Experience
Knowledge of non-profit accounting and accounting software
Experience with financial oversight, budgeting and tax reporting
