Scope & Deliverables

For the past 11 years, Friendship Circle has enjoyed success and growth fundamentally due to the founders' passion and vision for the future. In order for the organization to support its vision and projected growth, a solid infrastructure is essential. We are already in the process of professionalizing our staff and improving our overall operational infrastructure.  

Friendship Circle is in need of advice and guidance to help us better understand our needs as it relates to our board, to assist us in articulating those needs into written guidelines for roles and responsibilities for each board position, and as needed, to help us identify and recruit new members based on the descriptions developed.

Project Results

Our goal is to ensure that, with guidelines in place for the roles and responsibilities of our board as a whole, as well as for each board member, we will create a solid governance model that will help us continue to grow in the years to come.

Organization Description

Bay Area Friendship Circle, located in Palo Alto, pairs trained high school students with children and teens that have special needs for a full range of social, educational and recreational activities in a Jewish setting.

Required Skills/Experience

Understanding of board composition, structure, roles, and responsibilities within a non-profit organization.  Visionary and strategic thinker with excellent collaboration and communication.  Works well with smaller organizations who have established successful programs and now seek to build infrastructure to support continued growth and development.
