Scope & Deliverables
Camp Ramah in Northern California is seeking consultants with distinct expertise to advise in the following capacities:
- Reviewing and providing constructive feedback on our current HR protocols.
- Reviewing and providing constructive feedback on our financial systems and protocols.
- Helping us explore and determine the legal considerations around summer camp state licensing and compliance requirements.
Consultants will work with the Ramah staff (Executive Director and/or Business Manager) in each of their respective domains of expertise. This may involve a team approach with instances involving multiple consultants, or simply one on one conversation/advising sessions. Consulting will primarily be done remotely to help ensure the best use of time for all parties involved with the opportunity to meet face-to-face throughout the consulting period depending on the availability of the consultants and Ramah staff.
Project Results
These consultants will help to ensure our organization remains sustainably managed so that we can continue to provide safe, fun, and high-quality programming for many summers to come.
Organization Description
Camp Ramah in Northern California is an innovative Jewish summer camp located along the beautiful shores of Monterey Bay, California. Camp Ramah in Northern California offers an overnight camp experience that combines the excitement of specialty programming in ocean exploration, performing arts, and adventure sports with the cherished traditions, nurturing environment, and community-building of a traditional Ramah Camp.
Since 1950 the Ramah Camping Movement has been building relationships that last a lifetime at its overnight camps. We are thrilled to be able to offer two 2 week camping sessions, the option for a 4 week camping session, a Family Camp Shabbat, and a one week Taste of Ramah which includes a Tikvah program for campers with special needs, all in 2016! This will be a summer of friendships, creativity, and lifelong memories.
Required Skills/Experience
Expertise in finance, HR or legal
Enthusiasm for and experience in developing non-profit systems and protocols and/or working with growing nonprofit organizations
Understands how to develop strategies to address challenges that may arise in operating a new organization.
