ZMANIM

Scope & Deliverables

ZMANIM (SEASONS) is seeking legal advice on how to begin the process to incorporate as a non-profit, most likely a religious non-profit. It plans to pursue fiscal sponsorship, and thus seeks advice on the most basic level of incorporation -- a prerequisite for one of its potential fiscal sponsors. The attorney would offer guidance on navigating the process, helping to clarify which parts we can easily do ourselves and which parts it needs professional guidance on. ZMANIM doesn’t envision this as an extensive consultation, simply helping to clarify the basics and  ensuring the young organization don't make obvious mistakes. If possible, it also seeks basic advice on liability issues and on developing a simple waiver form for program participants.

Project Results

The pro bono legal advice would enable ZMANIM to gain a solid organizational footing. It is already providing engaging programs for individuals and families in the West Sonoma County area. Being able to officially incorporate would allow it to move to the next stage of establishing fiscal sponsorship. The liability consultation would result in the development of a waiver form for program participants.
