Jewish LearningWorks

Scope & Deliverables

JLW creates programs/products in partnership with other institutions. Sometimes, JLW receives compensation to develop these programs. We are unclear about the legalities surrounding ownership of what we created on our own with the financial support from other institutions.

We need advice about how to protect our intellectual property, and what legal rights we have as our work is recognized nationally in collaboration with other Jewish organizations.

Project Results

This project will help us understand our rights as the producers of original content, and give us guidance on how to collaborate with other institutions in this sphere.

After our consultations, we will be able to set policies and procedures internally and externally around intellectual property rights.

Organization Description

Based in San Francisco, Jewish LearningWorks’ mission is to improve and extend Jewish learning because learning is fundamental to Jewish life, identity, community and continuity. We IMPROVE Jewish learning by teaching Jewish educators. We EXTEND Jewish learning by reaching more learners. We LEAD our educational community by IGNITING conversations and educational innovation that respond effectively to the twenty-first century Northern California Jews.

Required Skills/Experience

We seek legal advice on intellectual property and copyrighting, specifically regarding curricula and programs.
