Gan Israel Preschool

Scope & Deliverables

The public’s perception of Gan Israel Preschool is based more on the school's 25 year history, than its current personality, offering, and community.  Our small size (about 25 children) makes us the only option for children that are looking for a smaller more individualized Jewish preschool environment.  Gan Israel is not only a community preschool, but a bridge for families to connect to other Jewish community resources and organizations.

As a small school with limited resources, we seek advice on the most effective and affordable ways to change people’s perceptions of the school and to grow our enrollment to full capacity (30 children). Identity? Messaging? Advertising? Social media? Deliverable would include two or more guided conversations to determine the most effective path to take, based on our marketing challenges and available resources.

At a later date, and not part of this pro bono engagement, there may be a subsequent phase involving pro bono guidance on the implementation of new marketing material and/or strategies.

Organization Description

Started in 1989, Gan Israel Preschool, located in San Rafael, is one of only two Jewish preschools in Northern Marin.  Independent, inclusive, and small, we focus on respecting and valuing each individual child and their family. Our curriculum teaches school-readiness skills to children from 18 months to 5 years old through creative hands on activities, as well as teaching and modeling human values such as: kindness, caring and respect.

Project Results

If Gan Israel were marketed as the preschool that it is today, it would not only directly affect the number of children and families enrolled in a  Jewish preschool, but it would also allow us to help connect families to the larger Jewish community in Marin.  The direct benefit would be increased enrollment in our program and increased family involvement in the greater Jewish community.
