About the Awards
Supported by the Jewish Federation Bay Area and the Helen Diller Family Foundation, the Diller Educator Awards honor exceptional Bay Area educators who are transforming pre-collegiate Jewish learning and having an enduring impact on our youth.
Up to four outstanding educators will each receive a $10,000 award, along with an additional $2,500 granted to their organization.
Since the award’s inception, over $1 million has been granted to 85 educators and their organizations.
Award Categories
- Early Childhood: Eligible professionals working in an organization, school, or space that engages pre-elementary school-age children
- Day School: Eligible professionals working in a full-day Jewish school with students in kindergarten up to 12th grade
- Congregational and Supplementary: Eligible professionals working with school-aged learners in an ongoing, part-time program. These programs can include a congregational school, afterschool programs, supplementary programs, or a youth group. These ongoing programs are not limited to those that take place in a classroom
- Communal and Experiential: Eligible professionals working with learners through immersive experiences, multiple limited programs, or multiple one-time events. This includes camps, communal organizational programming, museums, farms, and others
