Oct 7 Commemoration and Conversation with Fauda Co-Creator, Avi Issacharoff

Gather in community as we commemorate October 7 and reflect on the importance of telling this story with dignity.

As we mark October 7 together, we invite the San Francisco Jewish community to come together for an evening of remembrance and reflection.

The program will consist of a Yizkor service led by the Emanu-El clergy, and a conversation between Avi Issacharoff, co-creator of the acclaimed series Fauda, and Senior Rabbi Ryan Bauer.

Avi will reflect on the decision to reimagine Season 5 in the wake of October 7, including episodes that portray the events of that day. Together, he and Rabbi Bauer will explore why these stories matter, how media shapes public understanding, the challenge of portraying truth and trauma with integrity, and the responsibility we bear to those whose experiences we bring to the screen.

Season 5 of Fauda premiered on Netflix on September 8, 2026. Viewer discretion is advised for episodes 7 and 8.
