Contribution Guidelines

Refer to these critical dates and instructions to ensure that contributions are received by the IRS deadline for tax deduction eligibility.

  • Checks must be dropped off at our office by 5 pm on Monday, December 29.

Stock Transfers

  • Stock transfers must hit our account by Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
  • Please note that processing times may take 3-5 business days from the date of submission to your financial institution.
  • Please alert us about your stock contribution. See instructions below.

For DAFs:
Email daf@jewishfed.org and specify the stock name and number of shares OR complete and send the Stock Contribution Transmittal Form to daf@jewishfed.org.

For Supporting Foundations:

Wire Transfers

  • Wire transfers must be received by the Federation by the end of business day on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
  • To ensure proper processing, we recommend initiating wires at least two business days prior to ensure timely delivery.

For DAFs:
Complete the Wire Contribution Transmittal Form and email it to daf@jewishfed.org

For Supporting Foundations:

Restricted Stock

  • Please note that restricted stock processing times may take 3-4 weeks from the date of submission to your transfer agent to the date proceeds are deposited into your fund/foundation.

Granting Guidelines

Although grant recommendations from your donor-advised fund or supporting foundation are not a taxable event, follow the guidelines below to help ensure that charities receive grants by year-end.

Donor-Advised Funds

Grants are mailed each Friday. With the upcoming end of the calendar year, please note the following important guidelines:

  • To ensure processing by year-end, please submit grant recommendations by midnight on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
  • We will mail the final batch of 2025 grants on Friday, December 26, 2025.
  • Grant recommendations made after Sunday, December 7, 2025 will be processed as quickly as possible, but are not guaranteed to be processed by year-end.

Supporting Foundations

  • Contact the Foundation’s professional team to initiate all grants proposed for the Board’s consideration; contact Camille Menke, Director, Supporting Foundations at camillem@jewishfed.org or 415.512.6228.
  • To ensure processing by calendar year-end, please submit grant recommendations by midnight on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
