Temple Israel of Alameda: Yom Kippur Youth Program and Service
September 20 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Free
Temple Israel of Alameda invites the community to join in observing the Jewish High Holy Days, a sacred season of reflection, renewal, and hope. Services are free. Advance registration is required for security and childcare purposes.
Temple Israel is offering a new approach this year to observing these most important holidays with our Director of Education, Dr. Jenn Levine.
For Yom Kippur, youth (K – 7th grade) will be able to register for a “Day of Learning” on Sunday, September 20, followed by a short service with the “Reading of Jonah” for the whole family at 11 am. This way, children can attend on a Sunday and not a school day. Childcare for young children will still be available on Yom Kippur for parents who have registered in advance.
Visit www.templeisraelalameda.org/high-holy-days for the complete schedule, service leader bios, and the registration form. Registration is required for security purposes. Donations are accepted during the registration process to help underwrite the increased costs, including making donations per child who may need childcare. Parking is free.
