Helen Diller cared deeply about the future of the Jewish community and understood the key role that exceptional educators play in ensuring the next generations are proud, knowledgeable, and connected.
With this in mind, the Federation and the Helen Diller Family Foundation partnered to recognize outstanding Jewish educators, ensuring that these dedicated professionals know that their community appreciates their commitment and dedication to excellence. Together, they created an awards program that puts a spotlight on Jewish educators and elevates their important role in the community.
Diller Educator Awards
Established in January 2001, this award recognizes and honors educational professionals engaged with pre-collegiate Jewish learning who have made an extraordinary impact on the youth of our community. Award categories include early childhood, day school, congregational and supplementary, and Jewish communal and experiential.
Diller Prize for Distinguished Lifetime Achievement
Established in 2021, the Diller Prize for Distinguished Lifetime Achievement awarded to Bay Area professionals who demonstrate extraordinary service as a Jewish educational professional and show a substantial contribution to the improvement and enhancement of Jewish education. The Diller Prize is intended to honor the highest level of achievement and is not an annual award; it is only given when the criteria have been met.
Upon identifying the need to honor and spotlight educators and administrators who have dedicated their careers to making a lasting impact on the field of Jewish education, the Diller Educator Awards Selection Committee created the Diller Prize in partnership with the Federation and the Helen Diller Family Foundation.
