FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 12, 2025

The Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund expresses profound relief and gratitude at the safe return of Edan Alexander, an American-Israeli citizen, who has been reunited with his parents and two siblings after enduring more than 580 days in captivity.

Since the horrific events of October 7, 2023, our community has prayed daily for the safe return of every individual. For 19 months, we have stood in solidarity with the families of the hostages—rejoicing with those who have welcomed loved ones home and mourning those who have not.

“Edan’s return is a moment of immense relief and gratitude for our entire community,” said Joy Sisisky, Federation President and Chief Executive Officer. “While we rejoice with his family, we remain deeply committed to the 58 individuals still in captivity. We will not rest until every hostage is brought home.”
