Slingshot Guide Recognizes Innovation at the Federation
Slingshot, A Resource Guide to Jewish Innovation, is an annual compilation of the most inspiring and innovative organizations, projects, and programs in the North American Jewish community today. First published in 2005, Slingshot continues to highlight those organizations in Jewish life with particular resonance among the next generation. Since its inception, Slingshot has highlighted 191 innovative Jewish organizations in North America.
You don’t have to look very far to see how much the Jewish community has contributed to society. Innovation is in our DNA. And nowhere is that more true than in the Bay Area – a virtual hotbed of Jewish innovation where people from around the globe and from all walks of life come here to find and express their true selves, and to pursue their dreams. It is a region of possibility and optimism, where boundaries are pushed, paradigms shifted, and where new ideas emerge that often change the world. Today, the Federation is partnering with and funding some of the most creative programs and organizations around who are inspiring more people to engage in Jewish life. Because we know, the most vibrant Jewish communities are those that understand the future is today.
We are proud to have our INCLUDE North Peninsula program featured in this year's Slingshot Guide Disabilities & Inclusion Supplement. INCLUDE North Peninsula, a partnership of Jewish LearningWorks and the Federation, brings coordination, collaboration, and resource sharing to ten partner agencies in San Francisco, seeking to integrate the specific needs of children with disabilities into Jewish life.
