Incentive Grants for Teen Immersive Experiences
Immersive Jewish experiences for teens have a lasting impact
There is something different about a program that doesn’t end after a few hours—waking up surrounded by your peers, sharing meals together, learning through a variety of shared experiences over the course of multiple days. Immersive experiences deepen identity, friendships, and connection to your Jewish community.
The Federation's Teen Initiative aims to make Jewish programming accessible to every teen in the Bay Area, and the intention of this grant opportunity aims to reduce the barrier of first-time participation.
One weekend away can make all the difference.
The Teen Immersive Incentive Grants provides need-blind grants of $180 to teens engaging in a short-term, domestic Jewish experience for the first time. Grant money goes directly to the program provider to defray the cost of participation. Please apply within 30 days or more of the program to ensure time to process your application.
Grants are available to first-time participants who:
- Live in the Federation's service area.
- Are in 10th or 11th grade, or the second semester of 9th grade.
- Have not previously attended an overnight experience with the organization or program.
- Register for a program that runs between two and seven consecutive nights.
Examples of qualifying programs include:
- Weekend retreats hosted by BBYO, NCSY, NFTY, or USY
- L’Taken Social Justice Seminar
- Keshet Shabbaton
- Wilderness Torah Neshama Quest
