There's no question that these are challenging and often difficult times. Since coming here, I've been moved by the passion, commitment and generosity of this exciting and vibrant Bay Area Jewish community. I am so happy to be here with you, knowing that together we will make our dreams a reality. On behalf of all of us at the Federation, please allow me to share our hopes for the future, and to wish you continued joy and success in the coming New Year. And may 2009 be a year of peace and security for us here in the Bay Area, throughout the US, in Israel, and around the world.
