Honoring Exceptional Jewish Educators
Each year, the Jewish community honors four outstanding educators with the Helen Diller Family Awards for Excellence in Jewish Education.
Established in January 2001, the awards recognize educators offering pre-collegiate programs in Jewish education who have made an extraordinary impact on the youth of our community. Categories include early childhood, day school, congregational or community school, and informal education (outside of a classroom). An award of $10,000 is given to an educator in each category, and each awardee's institution will also receive $2,500.
Last year we honored Abra Greenspan in the congregational/community school category for her contributions to Congregation Etz Chayim, Adam Eilath in the day school category for his contributions to Jewish Community High School of the Bay, Emma Schnur in the early childhood education category for her contributions to Gan Avraham Preschool and Temple Beth Abraham, and Carol Booth in the informal education category for her contributions to Jewish Baby Network, Congregations Beth Am, Kol Emeth, and the Peninsula Jewish community.
