Kudos to our CEO Daniel Sokatch

This upcoming weekend, the Progressive Jewish Alliance is holding a big dinner in celebration of their 10th anniversary.  While they are at it, they are also honoring two community leaders,  Erwin Chemerinsky, and our very own Jewish Community Federation CEO Daniel Sokatch! This is what they had to say about him:

DANIEL SOKATCH, PJA's founding Executive Director, is a man of rare intellect and passion with a powerful vision for the future. As a young man, Daniel developed the belief that "...If you are Jewish, whether secular or religious, whether ethnically or culturally, atheist or Orthodox, there is a central animating principle to being Jewish, which is to repair the world." This unifying belief and his strong leadership as our first Executive Director is what propelled PJA to grow from 250 to 4000 members and to become an influential voice for social, economic and racial justice in California. In July 2008, Daniel left Los Angeles to become the CEO of the Jewish Community Federation in San Francisco, where he hopes to harness that organization's wide-ranging resources to bring his vision to the local community, Israel and the world. PJA honors Daniel Sokatch as a leader for a world anxiously seeking what he's offering: change.

Congrats Daniel! BTW...if you are interested in learning more about Daniel Sokatch, be sure to check out his short bio or peruse articles written about him on our blog.
