Uma, George, and Audrey Lerner from Tiburon in Marin County love PJ Library and their local Jewish community!

George, Audrey, and Uma Lerner

Audrey (8) attended preschool at the Osher Marin JCC and has been receiving PJ Library books for the past five years since she was three. Each month she is super excited to receive the packages that arrive addressed to her.

Uma and George have relished how PJ Library has been a central part of Audrey’s reading experience. When she was younger, they both read PJ Library books to their daughter and now Audrey is confident reading her new books aloud to them. Audrey also loves sharing PJ Library books with friends and visitors. Some of her current favorites include Barnyard Purim, Queen of the Hanukkah Dosas, Even Higher, and Five Little Gefiltes. When Audrey turns 8 ½ she will be able to sign up to select her own chapter book each month through the PJ Our Way program.

The Lerner’s, like many Jewish families in the Bay Area, have a diverse family background. Uma shares “we have been working on building our family tree, which weaves through Russia, Israel, China, the United States, France, and various other countries. Audrey has been enjoying getting to know her personal Jewish family heritage.”

The Lerner’s are active in the Marin Jewish community and appreciate the wonderfully diverse activities and programs that families can be involved in and where they can connect with one another. The Osher Marin JCC, Congregation Kol Shofar in Tiburon, and Chabad of Mill Valley are all organizations that have welcomed the Lerner family and make them feel at home in their community.

PJ Library® sends free Jewish books on a monthly basis to children ages 6 months through 8 years of age throughout the Bay Area. Learn More
