Meet our Philanthropy Advisory Team: Debbie Berkowitz
Debbie Tuttle Berkowitz is a Senior Philanthropic Advisor at the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties. In her work at the Federation over the last 7 years, she has held a number of different portfolios including work with young adults, venture philanthropy, donor stewardship, endowments, and philanthropic education. She designed and executed a three-year program called the Young Funders Network, giving local young adults inheriting philanthropic responsibility a social network, private discussion salon, and learning space. Her continuing passion lies with helping donors connect their values and vision for change to their philanthropic impact. She specializes in work with multiple generations, families, and young adults.
Prior to her work at the Federation, Debbie was the Youth and Family Director at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael. Before graduate school, she worked in nonprofit fundraising with the Bonner Group in Washington D.C.
A native of the Bay Area, Debbie lives in San Francisco her husband Mike, and their sons Ari and Levi. She has an MAJCS from Hebrew Union College and an MSW from USC. She also holds a BA from UC San Diego.
