A proud weekend for our Jewish community

San Francisco Pride held over "Pride weekend" June 25 to 27, 2010 throughout the Mission, Tenderloin & Castro neighborhoods is said to be "one of the last remaining pride events that can truly be called a rite of passage."

See all our photos from Pride weekend!

The LGBT Alliance took advantage of the opportunity for outreach among the major festiveness at Civic Center with a LGBT Jewish community booth. In addition to introducing multiple Bay Area LGBT Jewish lay led programs like Jewish Transitions, Grief and Growing weekend, The 20th World Congress of GLBT Jews, The HIV Story Project and A Wider Bridge we also introduced hundreds of folks to how our organized Bay Area LGBT Jewish community can be relevant to their everyday lives. Here are a few of our favorite moments from the weekend:

Volunteer Lay Leader, David Zeeman, surrounded by LGBT Jewish folks excited to share Chag Pride

The samples of the very popular Israeli Bamba snacks proved to be a huge hit!

In town for the LGBT Jewish Movement Building Convening at Berkeley Hillel June 27 - 29, Rabbi Steve Greenberg stops by the LGBT Alliance booth!

Friends and volunteers stop by and say hello. From left to right David Zeeman, Sam Goldman, Zvi Bellin, Elana Robinson-Lynch, Yair Qedar and David

Our LGBT Alliance Director, Lisa Finkelstein, pauses while hanging up the flag above the booth.
