The rebuilding in Israel begins

We are all relieved to hear the news from Israel that the fires in the Carmel Forest, just outside of Haifa, have been extinguished. The damage left behind is massive. 43 people lost their lives, over 12,000 acres of forest are destroyed, and some 250 homes were burned down. The effort has begun to return people to their homes where possible, provide ongoing care to those who were injured, rebuild those homes that were destroyed, and rehabilitate the beautiful forests of the Carmel. Our community responded with an outpouring of donations to help bring relief aid to Israel. And your help is still very much needed. Our Relief Fund for Israel is open, and contributions will be distributed to our on-the-ground providers.
