Update from the Federation Fellows

Federation Fellows, a program designed to attract, educate, and train the next leaders of the Jewish community was launched on August 1, 2012 with an internationally diverse group of 15 individuals. The two-year program begins with the participants serving as observers on the boards of various Jewish agencies in the Bay Area; the second year Fellows serve on a decision-making committee at the JCF (including the Board of Trustees).

Included in the list of organizations participating  in leadership skill-building programs, seminars, and workshops are Shalom Bayit, the American Jewish Committee, the Jewish Home for the Aged, Brandeis Hillel Day School, the Peninsula JCC, the Jewish Community High School of the Bay, the Bureau of Jewish Education, the Jewish Community Relations Council, and the Hebrew Free Loan Association.

Each fellow is  placed based on personal interests as well as the needs of the agency, requirements from the agency, and applicant's financial means. Graduates of the program engage with the community, both at the JCF and with other organizations, fulfilling the JCF's strategic initiatives of capacity building, and developing the next generation of leaders.
