Carol Leifer
An award-winning writer, producer, best-selling author, and stand-up comedian, Carol Leifer humbly describes herself as simply “someone who loves making people laugh.” Through her warm and humor-filled programs, she shares her views on women’s issues, her Jewish roots, LGBTQ+ perspectives, animal advocacy, and her trailblazing career as a woman in the male-dominated comedy world. Carol is a Lion of Judah, deeply committed to the Jewish community.

Carol’s observational style of humor won her four Emmy nominations for writing on acclaimed television shows such as “Seinfeld”, “The Larry Sanders Show”, and “Saturday Night Live”. She also won the prestigious Writer’s Guild Award for her work on television’s number-one comedy show, “Modern Family”. She has written for the Oscars telecast eight times, more than any other female writer and is currently a Writer/Producer for HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, reuniting with fellow “Seinfeld” alum Larry David.

Carol has written two best-sellers based on her extraordinary life: "When You Lie About Your Age, the Terrorists Win" and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Crying."
Honorees:
Dorothy Saxe
As the recipient of the 2022 Judith Chapman Memorial Women’s Leadership Award, Dorothy started her involvement in community organizations as a newlywed in Indiana in 1948 with the League of Women Voters, Hadassah, Temple Sisterhood, and the local Civic Action Committee. After moving to Palo Alto in 1959, she joined the board of Beth Am Sisterhood, started a lifetime involvement with Jewish Family and Children’s Services, and has been a longtime trustee of the Contemporary Jewish Museum.

In the art world, she has been on the board of the Pilchuck Glass School for almost 40 years and was a founder of a national organization of glass art enthusiasts.

Her proudest achievement is seeing her children and grandchildren active in their Jewish communities, assuming leadership roles in various organizations and day schools.
