The Federation’s global partner, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), our largest grantee, is on the ground in Israel providing urgently needed assistance to the people of Israel— supporting terror victims; providing emergency medical services, health care, and housing; and addressing the unprecedented physical and mental trauma caused by the horrific attacks.

Ariel Zwang is CEO of JDC, the leading global Jewish humanitarian organization. Since January 2021, she has since led JDC’s hundreds of professionals—operating in 70 countries—in their response to the Ukraine conflict and refugee crisis; the ongoing pandemic; a security crisis in Israel; and their work bolstering global Jewish life and leaders.
Ariel has held numerous Jewish community leadership positions, underscoring her commitment to Jewish practice, pluralism, and the diversity of Jewish life. She has been included on several “Top 50” lists of Jewish influencers and non-profit experts.
