Nava Tehila
Nava Tehila, Jerusalem’s Jewish Renewal Community, is one of the Jewish world's most innovative musical prayer communities. It’s spiritual leaders: Rabbi Ruth Gan Kagan, Daphna Rosenberg and Yoel Sykes generate new prayer modalities, compose new music for prayer and train Jewish prayer leaders in the art of musical prayer leading. Nava Tehila encourages inspiration, elation, praise and deep inner reflection, while holding a place of global awareness for the importance of prayer and Divine connection everywhere. Their music is sung in synagogues across Israel and throughout the globe.

The ensemble is an off-shoot of the Nava Tehila Congregation in Jerusalem, a liberal, egalitarian religious community that has gained a reputation for its uplifting music. Rooted in Middle Eastern, Hasidic, contemporary Israeli, and other "world" musics, Nava Tehila's original compositions - alternately celebratory, meditative, joyful and reflective are designed to be participatory with congregation or concert audience alike, with the end helping the spirit to soar. Their groundbreaking work towards pluralism in Israel happens with music, song and the ecstatic celebration of prayer, Psalms and Song of Songs
