Kerry Philp Appointed as Senior Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications

San Francisco, CAThe Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund (The Federation) has appointed Kerry Philp as Senior Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications. Reporting to CEO Danny Grossman, Kerry will oversee the Federation’s marketing and communications initiatives, and will lead the development and implementation of a long-term marketing strategy to advance the mission, achieve fundraising goals, improve brand awareness and successfully tell the Federation’s story.

“We’re thrilled to have Kerry join us, as she brings her deep experience and insight from Schwab Charitable and the United Nations,” said Danny Grossman.

A native of Western Pennsylvania and former San Francisco resident, Kerry brings over a decade of marketing and communications experience working with local, national and international companies and non-profit organizations. Most recently she worked for the United Nations (UN) World Food Programme in Rome, Italy, creating strategic plans to build partnerships with global foundations and companies. Prior to the UN, she created and implemented integrated marketing communications for Schwab Charitable, which raised over $1 billion annually, benefiting over 100,000 charitable organizations. She also facilitated partnerships with Bay Area cities and schools to promote early childhood programs, including serving as Executive Director of a San-Francisco based nonprofit.

“Giving plays such an important role in Jewish life,” says Kerry, “and the generosity of this is so inspirational. So many are unaware of the role that the Federation plays in building a Jewish community as a force for good, both locally and globally. It’s an honor to be given the opportunity to grow awareness of this work and its impact.”

A global citizen, Kerry served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Albania and Guinea and is conversant in Italian and French. She holds a BA in Music from Allegheny College and an MA in International Education Policy from Stanford University, and is thrilled to be back in the Bay Area.
