This year, we will gather on April 21-22 to celebrate Israel's 70th Birthday with a local retreat, the SF Shabbaton at B'nai Emunah. Our Southside Jewish Collaborative partners will join with us as we enjoy a full weekend of food, wine, music (Klezmania! Trio) and learning with Dr. Henry Shreibman, our scholar in residence. Recent findings in Biblical archeology are answering questions like never before. Get a real sense of Biblical narratives - and what we know of these legendary locations and figures. Let's explore and uncover a 3,000 year old mystery.
Sunday, April 22

Topic: Northern Israel in the Rabbinic and Early Christian Period
Northern Israel was a hot bed of creativity, rebellion and raw materialism. The Galilee and the Golan are the epicenter of the interface between the Rabbis, the Romans and Early Christianity. Northern Israel today remains a hopeful symbol of coexistence and mutual respect and understanding.
